At Derby Town Tuning, calibration is treated as an engineering discipline. Not a file, not a shortcut, and not a horsepower contest.
Our primary calibration focus is modern HEMI based platforms, where torque modeling, airflow accuracy, and engine/transmission integration are critical to achieving reliable, repeatable performance.
Every calibration is developed around the vehicle’s mechanical configuration, intended use, and operating limits. Rather than chasing peak dyno figures, we prioritize predictable response, clean torque delivery, and long term durability.
We work at the system level, ensuring airflow models, torque models, and transmission logic operate cohesively, resulting in vehicles that drive correctly under real world conditions, not just wide open throttle.
Professional calibration tools, including HP Tuners, are used to validate and implement these changes, but the tools themselves are secondary to the methodology behind them.
Because this work requires time, data, and discipline, calibration projects are accepted by application only and capacity is intentionally limited.

At Derby Town Tuning, calibration is treated as an engineering discipline, not a commodity.
Modern powertrains are governed by interconnected airflow models, torque models, and control strategies that must operate correctly across all operating conditions. A calibration that performs well in one area but fails to maintain system integrity elsewhere is not considered complete.
Our approach prioritizes accuracy, repeatability, and mechanical sympathy. Each calibration is developed around the vehicle’s physical configuration, intended use, and operating limits. Changes are made deliberately, validated through data, and evaluated for their impact on the entire system, not isolated tables.
Peak dyno numbers are not the objective. Correct behavior under real world conditions is.

Not every vehicle, and not every owner, is a fit for this approach. Calibration projects are accepted by application only, and intake is limited by design. This ensures each vehicle receives the time, analysis, and discipline required to meet our standards.
Turning away work is not an exception to our process. It is part of it.

Engine and transmission behavior cannot be calibrated independently. Torque production, torque management, shift scheduling, and clutch control are inseparable systems that must agree with one another to function correctly.
Our work focuses on aligning airflow modeling, delivered torque, and transmission logic so that power is applied predictably and consistently. This includes load based control, shift behavior under varying torque demand, and drivability across part throttle, transient, and wide open conditions.
The result is a vehicle that responds cleanly, shifts intentionally, and maintains composure under real load, not one that feels aggressive on a dyno pull but unstable in daily operation.
When these systems are calibrated correctly, performance and efficiency become natural byproducts rather than forced outcomes.
